A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Ryan holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 66 securities licenses, along with Health Insurance and Life Insurance licenses.
Originally from St. Ansgar, Ryan was a four-year letter winner as a tight end for the University of Northern Iowa football team. He was selected in the 2002 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, where he played for four seasons, appearing in Super Bowl XL, before joining the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent in 2006 for one season.
Following his retirement from the NFL in 2007, Ryan and his wife, April, returned to Cedar Falls where they currently reside with their two daughters, becoming a Partner in Financial Designs in 2013. In his free time, Ryan enjoys coaching his daughters’ youth sports teams and cheering for the UNI Panthers and Chicago Cubs.
